What is up with the world

I have been reading the news lately and it just amazes me how violent and desperate people get during hard times. It is up setting that so many murders and suicides take place. I always feel like money makes the world go round but it does not stop it. People lose all their morals when it comes to money and it is useless. Killing your family and yourself because you are about to lose your home and your job is gone never takes care of the problems it only is an easy bail out. Family is there regardless of material things and money. they are the things that do not change, family and true friends. I feel that way because when I was little I seen a play about Lot and his family. If you are a little familiar with the bible, or if you forgot Lot and his family lived in Sodom and Gomorrah cities that were getting destroyed by God because of their behavior. Anyways they were almost destroyed with the city because they were worried about their material things. They stayed back so long that the angels had to practically push them from their home into safety. They were told not to look back to what they had to leave behind. Lot's wife looked back and was turned into a pillar of salt. I have claimed to one thought after that I would never go as far as to lose my life or risk the life of my family because of material things. You only have one life and why lose it over something that can not live. So what I can not have I never stress over it or make it a big deal I just live without it and enjoy what I have.
Even for those out there who do not believe in God or the bible this story still gives a fine example of what material possessions can cause you to do. I am not trying to drop some knowledge on you just giving my readers something to think about. I am just so tried of hearing of family murder stories these past dew months when there is so much to live for. Changing the subject now, have you ever noticed when people think of paradise they think about the beauty of nature, you know white sand, flawless blue clear water beaches, palm dreams, mixed drinks with umbrellas, spending time with loved ones, and relaxing in perfect weather. Money and lots of material thing are never involved crazy right. No crowds, no big city, no cell phones nothing like that.
